On behalf of Siemens, ixtract combined the results of a wide-ranging and versatile customer survey on "Digitization" in a 24-page print brochure graphically appealing and understandable content. The results include the attitude of over 280 Siemns clients from all industries and company sizes and provide information about the basic understanding about the current state of development, as well as future prospects and concrete strategies. The complexity of the survey conducted during the development of the booklet to many changes and rearrangements in the presentation of results. ixtract found for each amendment the right solution to make the theme of "Digitization" in its essence at the end tangible.

A first analysis of the results of the survey.
Based on the survey results supplied by Siemens, ixtract procured an overview of the topic .The survey was developed after an analysis of more than 30 different German and international studies and illuminates the digitalisation in companies from many different angles. The intention of the brochure, was to show these complex content in a short and simple graphically way.

From the variety of aspects that include the digitization in a company, ixtract created three main areas in which the brochure should be shared content and appearance: Digital Strategy, Technological Progress and Increased Value of digital developments. This "triad" was summarized in a central graphic and highlighted every single area by one of it's three colors within the brochure.
The first analysis of the raw data resulted in a rough pageplanning and the reorganization of the results in different topics. In this phase, ixtract already yielded also the first ideas for the style of the individual charts and used graphic elements. On the left side the result of the pageplanning is shown, on the right one the stages of development of a singel page e.g. the "Management Summary": the final result differs substantially in visual terms from the first drafts.
Based on the first functional layouts, ixtract designed a scribble which represented the planned content already in a very concrete way. At this time, the planned scope of the booklet comprised 28 pages .The highlighted pages show the development of the overview, illustrating the chosen theme "triad".
Next step was to put the 28-page scribble into practice. The sites on the topic "Digital Strategy" changed while the development of the brochure several times in their appearance.
After many considerations was decided to change the format from portrait on a landscape format for the whole brochure. ixtract fit the layout of the pages accordingly and also expanded the area that put a focus on the divisions, so that the scope of the booklet grew to 56 pages. The sides highlighted the theme of "Technological progress" show that the same content has been shown in many different ways.
